Contra Costa Health Services has issued this handy chart to help you determine if the symptoms you’re having are due to a cold, the flu, or COVID-19.
IF YOU THINK YOU MAY HAVE COVID-19, CONTACT YOUR PRIMARY CARE PHYSICIAN FIRST. DO NOT GO TO THE EMERGENCY ROOM UNANNOUNCED.

KNOW THE SIGNS & SYMPTOMS
Because COVID-19 is a new virus, much is being learned about signs and symptoms as more people contract the disease and are being identified. According to the Centers for Disease Control, symptoms are:
SEVERE — Immediate hospitalization required
Extreme difficulty in breathing
Persistent pain or pressure in chest
Confusion or inability to arouse
Bluish lips or face.
RARE BUT VERIFIED OTHER SYMPTOMS — May require hospitalization depending on severity
Diarrhea
MILD – Hospitalization unlikely
Dry cough
Sore throat
Mild congestion
Body aches
Fatigue
MODERATE — Hospitalization may be necessary
Cough
Shortness of breath
Fever above 100.4
Dehydration — thirst, dry mouth, decreased urination, dark urine, dry skin, headache, dizziness
